About KFOKAM 48
KFOKAM 48 is a program of the Center for Arts and Crafts Training located within the AEKFOKAM campus of Excellence based in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
This first campus welcomed in 2023 the first cohort of students in software development. Other campuses are opening in other countries across the continent.

Participate in Africa's rapid digitalization through a platform that will allow every African, regardless of their education level, to learn computer coding.
Our Ambition
Cover 50% of African countries in 10 years and the entire continent in 25 years. Thus, we will have created a network capable of impacting African generations.

Self Learning (Training without teachers)
The training does not rely on lectures but on project-based and peer learning.

The foundations on which our training program is built
Partnerships
Part of the training takes place in companies. During immersion internships, students experience daily business life and have the opportunity to confront field realities and get answers to practical questions they had.
Trial & Error
The training is based on a method that requires students to try, then fail, try again until they find the solution and succeed in reaching their goal. Each success stage corresponds to earned points. Training is validated once the required number of points is reached.
Open Training
Each year, between 150 and 200 students will follow our software development training at each of our campuses, with no diploma prerequisites required for entry.
Teamwork
Each student does their research, then discusses with peers, works in teams, exposes their difficulties, and contributes to or benefits from group work.
Peer-peer-evaluation
Teacher evaluation is excluded in this training; students exchange papers or projects for mutual performance evaluation.
Market-Oriented Diploma
The diploma issued by the Center for Arts and Crafts Training opens the door to privileged destinations and work environments in Africa (and outside Africa for their work, perseverance, and high employability). It also perfectly meets the needs of digital service companies, very eager for IT professionals.
Training Duration and Progression System
The training duration is variable. The minimum development is achieved after 18 months minimum and 26 months maximum. Inspired by video games, the KFOKAM 48 program is organized into different challenge levels.
To pass each level, students will need to develop projects and have them validated, thus collecting points. These will allow them to progress in their empowerment.
A student who, after 8 months, has not received the necessary points will receive a training certificate.
7. Opening Hours
The school will be open 24/7. This is to allow students to learn and progress at their own pace.
Alumni Association
This association recruits as members anyone who has participated in this program for at least twelve months, with or without success.
The student and alumni association is the cornerstone of this training's sustainability.
This participation will allow future generations to continue benefiting from free training. Their networking will guarantee employment for all students of the institution.
3. Solidarity
This pillar requires any student who has benefited from this training and who has found employment or created their own job to be supportive of future generations. Each former student will give part of their income for a determined period to the KFOKAM Arts & Crafts Foundation.

1. Creativity
The organization and structuring of training are articulated towards promoting creative genius. Students are led to push their limits, thus benefiting from an environment that frees their imagination.
Flexibility
Software development does not accommodate rigid rules regarding working hours or administrative procedures. Our training offers students the opportunity to freely learn a profession that is practiced with freedom.
Team Spirit
The training is not structured around lectures. There is no master who would administer knowledge to anyone. However, the educational environment promotes open discussion, which generates complementarity and awakening.

Social Impact
Our training offer satisfies the expectations of those left behind by the traditional school system. It will provide an opportunity for young people to follow information and communication technology courses.

A 5-step journey
From onboarding to the final project, the training unfolds in five progressive steps that take every learner from the fundamentals to a company-ready software engineer.
Onboarding
Build solid foundations to succeed in your journey.
This first step lets learners acquire computing fundamentals, discover Linux, Git and GitHub, and get started with programming. It develops the essential skills to thrive in a modern software development environment.
Fundamentals
Develop core programming skills.
Learners strengthen their algorithmic logic and learn the key concepts of programming, data structures, relational databases and object-oriented programming. This phase lays the foundations needed to design robust applications.
Engineering
Go from developer to true software engineer.
This phase introduces professional software development practices: Java, automated testing, software architecture, API design and integration, DevOps, cloud deployment and the responsible use of AI tools. Students learn to design, test and deploy production-ready applications.
Specialization
Specialize in a high-demand field.
Students choose one of two tracks: Full-Stack Web Development or Data Engineering & Applied AI. Through hands-on projects, they build deep expertise and gain the skills companies look for in their area of specialization.
Capstone
Put all your skills into practice on a real project.
The final stage of the program, the Capstone lets students work in teams on a project that addresses a concrete need. They apply everything they have learned, build a professional portfolio and prepare to enter the workforce with experience close to real industry conditions.
